The Greek word for parable literally means “to place alongside”. Through this series we will focus on 13 parables containing common stories from life which have, placed alongside, a spiritual truth.

Part 1 - The Purpose of the Parables

Matthew 13:10-17

Jesus uses parables to either reveal callous hearts where the word is being taken away, or reveal receptive hearts which have an increasing harvest.

Part 2 - The Mustard Seed and the Yeast

Matthew 13:31-33

The parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast encourage Kingdom members to expect growth and an abundant response to the Gospel, irrespective of, what may seem like, an insignificant beginning or effort.
